Hon. Lanre Sarumi, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the 2023 general election, has sent his deepest condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State following the tragic death of his beloved brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.
Engineer Sunday Makinde, aged 65, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025. In a heartfelt statement, Hon. Sarumi expressed his profound sorrow and offered his unwavering support to the grieving family.
“I am deeply saddened to hear of Engineer Sunday Makinde’s passing. This is an incredibly difficult time for Governor Makinde and his family, and my heart goes out to them. I pray that they find the strength to cope with this immense loss, and may they find comfort in the enduring impact and legacy that Engineer Makinde leaves behind,” Sarumi said.
Hon. Sarumi also offered prayers for peace and solace for the family, asking for God’s grace to give them the fortitude to bear such a devastating loss.
“The entire state shares in this sorrowful moment, as the Makinde family has been a source of hope and leadership for Oyo State. This loss is felt by us all, and we stand with Governor Makinde and his family in this time of mourning.
