Education Remains Our Priority, Says Ibadan South West Chairman As He Visits Coaching Centre

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Kehinde Akande , has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to education, saying investment in young people remains the best way to secure the future of the local government.

The Chairman made this known during a visit to a coaching centre in the council area where he interacted with a large number of students preparing for external examinations. The visit was part of efforts to encourage students and assess the impact of educational support programmes being run within Ibadan South West.

Addressing the students, Hon. Akande said his administration places high value on education because it is the foundation for personal growth and community development. He assured the students of continuous support from the local government, including provision of learning materials and an enabling environment for academic excellence.

“I am here today because I believe in you and in the future you represent,” the Chairman said. “This administration will continue to support initiatives that help our students succeed. Education is key, and we will not relent in giving it the attention it deserves.”

The Chairman was received warmly by teachers and students who expressed appreciation for the visit. They described it as a morale booster ahead of their upcoming examinations.

Members of the Chairman’s entourage on the visit included the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Alhaji Hasan Bello, Supervisory Councillors, Special Assistants, Hon. Biodun Alawauje, and Hon. Kazeem Adesokan.

Teachers at the coaching centre commended the Chairman for identifying with students at the grassroots level. They noted that such visits motivate both learners and educators to do more.

The students also expressed joy at receiving the Chairman and members of his team. Many of them said the assurance of continued support has given them renewed hope and confidence as they prepare for their exams.

Hon. Akande urged the students to remain focused, disciplined and committed to their studies, adding that the local government will continue to partner with stakeholders to improve educational outcomes in Ibadan South West.
