The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Hon. Dr. Kolapo Temitope Glorious, has congratulated His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, following the safe return of the abducted pupils and teachers who have now reunited with their families.
Dr. Glorious described the development as a moment of great relief and joy for the people of Oyo State, noting that the unfortunate incident brought anxiety and concern to parents, guardians, and well meaning citizens across the state.
According to the Chairman, Governor Seyi Makinde demonstrated genuine leadership, commitment, and compassion throughout the difficult period. He noted that the Governor remained deeply concerned about the safety and wellbeing of the pupils and teachers and never relented in his determination to see them return home safely.
“As a leader and a father, I know that His Excellency was not comfortable with the situation from the very first day. The pain of the parents became the concern of the government, and every effort was directed towards ensuring that these innocent children and their teachers returned safely to their families.”
Dr. Glorious expressed gratitude to Almighty God for preserving the lives of the victims and granting them a safe reunion with their loved ones. He also commended all security agencies and stakeholders whose efforts contributed to the successful outcome.
The Chairman further congratulated the families of the pupils and teachers, describing their reunion as a moment of thanksgiving.
He prayed that Almighty God would continue to protect the people of Oyo State, grant wisdom to leaders at all levels, and ensure that peace and security continue to prevail across the state.
Dr. Glorious reaffirmed his support for Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to the welfare and safety of the people, noting that responsible leadership is measured not only by development projects but also by the ability to stand with the people during challenging times.
The safe return of the pupils and teachers is a victory for every resident of Oyo State and a reminder that with determination, collaboration, and God’s intervention, difficult challenges can be overcome.
