The Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Olooye Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke, FCA, has welcomed the release of the pupils and teachers abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area, describing their freedom after 56 days in captivity as a moment of thanksgiving for the entire state.
The Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, Adegoke expressed gratitude to God for the safe return of the victims, noting that their release brought relief to their families and all well-meaning Nigerians who had continued to pray for them.
“For 56 long days, we prayed, hoped, and stood with the families of the Oriire victims. Today, we give thanks to God that our children and their teachers are finally back home,” he said.
The ADC governorship candidate acknowledged the emotional trauma suffered by the victims and their families, stressing that while their release was a source of joy, the journey toward healing and recovery would require continued support and compassion.

He prayed for God to comfort the victims and their loved ones, restore their strength, and grant them lasting peace after the traumatic experience.
Adegoke also commended the security agencies, community leaders, religious leaders, and all Nigerians whose collective efforts and unwavering hope contributed to the successful rescue of the abductees.
Describing the development as a victory for Oriire Local Government and Oyo State, he expressed hope that such painful incidents would never occur again.
“This is a joyful day for Oriire and Oyo State at large. May such sorrow never visit our communities again. Together, we will build a stronger Oyo State,” Adegoke stated.
