_Welcomes New APM Members in Lagelu, Says Their Defection Will Move Nigeria Forward_
Mogaji (Hon.) Olajide Olatoye, popularly known as Big Daddy Sugar, has welcomed the new members who recently joined the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing their decision as a bold and timely step towards building a better Nigeria.
Big Daddy Sugar, who was present at the defection ceremony, expressed his excitement over the growing number of political stakeholders, youths and supporters identifying with the APM, saying their decision demonstrated that Nigerians are increasingly recognising the need for a new political direction.
He congratulated the new members for what he described as “knowing the right choice at the right moment,” stressing that their movement into the APM was not just about changing political platforms but about joining a movement committed to the transformation and progress of the country.

According to him, the APM is a political party poised to reset the country and provide a new direction capable of giving Nigeria the shape and future it deserves.
He passionately welcomed the defectors into the APM family, assuring them that they would be treated as valuable members of the movement and encouraged to contribute meaningfully to the party’s vision and grassroots development.
Big Daddy Sugar said: “I warmly welcome you all to the Allied Peoples Movement. I congratulate you for taking this bold step and, most importantly, for knowing the right choice at this moment.
“Your decision to join APM is one of the best moves you can make towards contributing to the political and developmental transformation of our country. This is not merely about leaving one political party for another; it is about identifying with a movement that is determined to reset Nigeria and put the nation on the path of progress.
“The APM is a party with a vision for a better Nigeria. We want a country that works for everyone, a nation with good governance, opportunities and a future that our children can be proud of.
“Today, you have made the right choice. I welcome you passionately, and I urge you to remain committed, united and steadfast as we work together to move our nation forward.”
The APM stakeholder further commended the party leadership and grassroots supporters in Lagelu for their efforts in strengthening the party’s structure across the local government.
He noted that the increasing acceptance of the APM reflects a growing desire among Nigerians for political leadership that prioritises unity, inclusiveness, development and the collective interest.
Big Daddy Sugar urged the new members to see their defection as the beginning of a new political journey, calling on them to work with existing members in the spirit of unity and shared responsibility.
He expressed confidence that the growing strength of the APM at the grassroots would translate into a stronger political movement capable of contributing significantly to Nigeria’s political renewal ahead of the 2027 general elections.
