APM Stakeholders Celebrate Barr. Sarafadeen Lateef Onijo’s Emergence as Consensus Candidate for Saki West
Stakeholders of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Saki West Local Government, Saki, Ibadan and the diaspora have congratulated Barrister Sarafadeen Lateef Onijo on his emergence as the consensus candidate and flagbearer of the party for the forthcoming Saki West Local Government Chairmanship election.
In a congratulatory message signed by Hon. Adekunle Tunji Rafiu, JP, on behalf of the stakeholders, the group described Onijo’s emergence as a significant step towards reconciliation, unity and progress within the party and the local government.
The stakeholders commended the APM leadership and the thirteen (13) aspirants who participated in the selection process for their courage, commitment and sacrifice, stressing that the process should mark the beginning of a new era of unity rather than division.

They also expressed appreciation to the Grand Chief Imam of Saki, the League of Imams and Alfas, the Christian community, traditional worshippers and the traditional religious community, the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, the Okere-in-Council, as well as non-indigenous residents for their support for peace and unity in Saki West.
The stakeholders further appreciated His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for listening to the voices of reason and supporting what they described as a decision capable of promoting peace, unity and development in Saki West Local Government.
According to the statement, “The oracle has spoken, and it has spoken loudly.”
The stakeholders urged all aspirants, party leaders and supporters to put the outcome of the selection process behind them and work collectively for the success of the party.
They stressed that the contest should no longer be viewed in terms of winners and losers, but as an opportunity to build a stronger and more united APM family.
“No victor, no vanquished. We may have disagreed during the process, but disagreement should never become division. Let us forgive, reconcile and move forward together.”
The group also called on all party members to begin preparations for the broader political challenges ahead, particularly the 2027 general elections, urging members to support APM candidates across all levels.
They emphasised that the strength of the party would depend on unity, discipline, reconciliation and collective commitment.
The stakeholders declared:
“Let us turn our energy from rivalry to reconciliation, from division to unity, and from individual interests to the collective success of our party. 2027 is a journey we must undertake together.”
They concluded with a renewed call for unity under the slogan:
One Party. One Family. One Saki West. One Common Purpose.
The stakeholders once again congratulated Barr. Sarafadeen Lateef Onijo, expressing optimism that his emergence would usher in a new chapter of peace, unity, inclusion and progress in Saki West Local Government.
