APC OYO 2027 GUBER TOPMOST CONTENDERS X-RAYED. By Busari Lateef Olanrewaju

As Progressives set out to return to power in Oyo state,the X-ray on the topmost Guber aspirants and chances of picking the party’s 🎫 ticket.

The advent of this Republic ,which came into being on May 29th,1999 has witnessed reign of two “progressives” governors as may be described.

Lam Adesina from 1999 till 2003 under the banner 🎋 of Alliance for Democracy (AD) and Abiola Ajimobi(both of blesed memories) under the banner of ACN first and later transformed APC.

While Late Lam occupied the covetted seat 💺 for just 4 years ,just a single term tenure ,Late Abiola Ajimobi became the first governor to spend two terms in the history of the pacesetter state ,between 2011 and 2019.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) currently in power in Oyo state had hijacked power from the progressives during the two occasions,when they lost out in the power game,which means power has been rotated or switched between the two contending political parties in the history of the state’s political equation.

As the preparation begins towards ,who rule the ancient state come 2027,the opposition party in Oyo state, currently being governed by Engr.Seyi Makinde of the PDP,has begun putting its house in readiness for who is presented as the flag bearer of the APC ,that can secure the much needed victory against the rated 8 year running of Makinde’s administration .

Though ,there are numerous aspirants ,already showing interest,such as Barr Agbaje and Dr. KKK ,herein is the X-ray of the topmost contenders for the plum position .

*Chief* *Abdulwaheed* *Adelabu* ” *Penkelemesi* ”

Currently a Minister under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,he was the Governorship candidate of the Accord party during 2023 general election,where he participated in the contest

Abdulwaheed Adelabu has not possesed years of experience and seems ,not playing expected role into putting the party together.

He does not extend political largesse to party members,which may have curried affection for his ambition.

Not many party leaders are enamoured of interest in his choice for the 🎫 ticket

*Senator* *Teslim* *Folarin*

A former Senate Leader ,who has spent 12 years ,in the upper legislative chamber ,represented Oyo Central .two terms under the banner of PDP and one term with APC banner.

Senator Teslim Folarin is a strategist ,who knows how to play internal scheming ,getting the party’s ticket

He was the APC candidate in the last 2023 election ,when he was defeated by the Seyi Makinde’s PDP to secure 2nd term in office .

The concern is about Folarin s electoral value and tracks to market his candidature.

*Senator* *Sarafadeen* *Alli*

Currently,representing Oyo South District at the Red chamber of the National Assembly.

Sarafa Alli ,is a very experienced politician,who has been LG chairman ,SSG,COS ,with long years in the political arena.

A grassroots politician,who once reigned in the PDP.

The greatest challenge is the capacity to power the huge financial demand for Governorship contest .

*Hon* *Engr* *(Dr.)* *Abass* *Remi* *Oseni*

Highly rated performing House of Reps member for Ibarapa East and Ido Federal Constituency.

Remi Oseni is armed with huge track records of achievements in infrastructure.

He parades historical empowerment of broad section and has boldly funded and financed the party’s activities.

The recent alliances and support pronouncement by the famous Ibadan philanthropist,Chief Dotun Sanusi has added no small energy and vigour to his candidature.

Remi Oseni is highly experienced, a grassroots politician and a philanthropist of note with goodwill and links with all geo political zones in Oyo state .

He has the highest rating and acceptability ratio amongst all the contenders .

He has the undoubted capacity and capability to finance the election ,in addition to strong bond with billionaire friends and acquitances ,who are ready to support his Governorship design .

Everyone looks forward to the APC as efforts are geared towards repositioning the party for 2027 power contest for Oyo state number one seat.
