ODIDIOMO Steps Up Youth Development, Sponsors Community Soccer Tournament in Ibadan

Rt. Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullah Olajide, popularly known as ODIDIOMO, has continued to demonstrate his commitment to sports development and youth engagement by sponsoring a community soccer tournament currently taking place at the YMCA Compound, Joyce B, off Ring Road, Ibadan.

The grassroots football tournament, organised by Team Success FC under the leadership of Mr. Abati Oluwatayo, has attracted over 16 football clubs competing for the coveted trophy.

According to the organisers, the initiative is aimed at providing young people with a productive platform to showcase their talents, build meaningful relationships and stay away from social vices.

The sponsorship by ODIDIOMO reflects his belief that youth engagement through sports and other productive ventures can contribute significantly to reducing violence, drug abuse and other forms of anti-social behaviour among young people.

Also supporting the tournament is Hon. Yusuf Oladeni Adebisi, popularly known as Yusuf Currency, a team owner and passionate lover of sports, who has contributed generously towards the success of the competition.

Community football tournaments such as this have historically served as important platforms for discovering young talents who have gone on to represent Nigeria and excel professionally across Europe, Asia, America and other parts of the world. The organisers expressed optimism that the current competition will also produce promising talents.

The tournament holds every Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with football enthusiasts and members of the public invited to witness the exciting matches.
