The Allied Peoples Movement, APM, candidate for Ibadan South West State House of Assembly Constituency 2, Honourable Akinsete Olakunle, on Monday took his consultation and grassroots engagement to Ward 8 and Ward 9 of the local government.
The tour, which drew large crowds of party members, youth groups, and community leaders, was part of efforts to present his agenda and seek support ahead of the state assembly election.
Addressing party members and residents at Ward 8, Honourable Akinsete said he is running to provide quality representation that will put the interests of the people first at the Oyo State House of Assembly. He promised to focus on legislation and projects that will improve education, primary healthcare, road infrastructure, and economic opportunities in the constituency.
“We are in this race to serve. Constituency 2 deserves a representative who will be accessible, who will listen, and who will bring government closer to the people,” he said. “Under APM, we will ensure that the voices of Ward 8 and Ward 9 are heard and that development gets to every corner of Ibadan South West.”

In Ward 9, the APM candidate held interactive sessions with party members, youth leaders, and community stakeholders. He listened to concerns raised on drainage, street lighting, unemployment, and the need for more party mobilization ahead of the elections. He also distributed educational materials to pupils and empowerment items to selected party members and vulnerable residents in the area.
Youth leaders in Ward 9 commended Honourable Akinsete for engaging directly with the grassroots, describing him as a candidate who understands the challenges facing young people in Ibadan South West.
Speaking further, Honourable Akinsete outlined key areas of his legislative agenda to include youth skills acquisition, support for small businesses, upgrading of health centers, and attracting constituency projects that will have direct impact on residents.
Ward executives and party leaders in both Ward 8 and Ward 9 pledged their support for the candidate and the party. They appealed for more attention to road rehabilitation, security, and job creation for graduates in the two wards.
Honourable Akinsete assured constituents that he will maintain an open-door policy and will return regularly to give account of his stewardship if elected. He also called on party members and residents to collect their Permanent Voter Cards and participate actively in the electoral process.
