The DJ Association of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter on Tuesday paid a courtesy and solidarity visit to the office of the Director General, Youth Mobilization for Omituntun 3.0 in Ibadan. The meeting was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the creative industry and the youth mobilization structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
During the engagement, the association formally declared its support for the presidential aspiration of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde, and also endorsed Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi to succeed him as Governor of Oyo State.
The delegation was led by the Chairman of the association in Oyo State, DJ Honeymix, who was accompanied by the Vice Chairman, DJ Collabo, and the General Secretary, DJ Afrika, alongside other executive members and zonal coordinators drawn from across the 33 local government areas of the state.
Addressing the Director General , DJ Honeymix described DJs as cultural influencers and grassroots mobilizers who have direct access to millions of young people across clubs, events, street parties, and social media platforms. He said the association has resolved to use its platforms to preach the message of continuity, good governance, and youth inclusion that Omituntun 3.0 represents.

According to him, Governor Seyi Makinde has demonstrated purposeful leadership in Oyo State through investments in education, health, security, infrastructure, and youth empowerment. He added that such leadership qualities are what Nigeria needs at the national level, hence the decision of the association to throw its weight behind the governor’s presidential ambition.
DJ Honeymix further stated that the association is also solidly behind Dr. Bimbo Adekanmbi for governor in 2027, noting that his antecedents in public service and commitment to development make him the right person to sustain and expand the gains of the Omituntun administration in Oyo State.
The Vice Chairman, DJ Collabo, in his remarks, pledged that the association will embark on a statewide sensitization tour that will include music concerts, street outreaches, campus engagements, and voter education campaigns. He said the goal is to ensure that young people understand the importance of participation in the electoral process and are mobilized to support candidates who have the interest of the people at heart.
Also speaking, the General Secretary, DJ Afrika, emphasized that members of the association are ready to align their events and platforms with the Omituntun 3.0 movement. He noted that DJs are opinion molders in the entertainment space and can help amplify the achievements of the current administration while also selling the vision for the future.

Kazeem Bolarinwa welcomed the DJ Association and commended them for their unity, structure, and willingness to partner with government. He said the creative industry has always been a veritable tool for mass mobilization and that the involvement of the association will add significant value to the ongoing efforts to take the message of Omituntun to every community in Oyo State and beyond.
He explained that Omituntun 3.0 is built on the foundation of continuity, inclusiveness, and sustainable development, and that the support of critical stakeholders like the DJ Association will help deepen the reach of the movement among young people who form the largest voting bloc in the state.
The Director General assured the association of the government’s readiness to continue to create opportunities for young people in the creative and entertainment sector through training, empowerment programs, and enabling policies. He urged them to remain peaceful, professional, and focused as they carry out their mobilization activities.
The meeting ended with both parties agreeing to set up a joint committee that will coordinate activities, events, and messaging between the Youth Mobilization office and the DJ Association across the state. Members of the association also used the opportunity to present branded materials and pledged to stage a mega solidarity concert in Ibadan in the coming months to officially flag off their campaign for the 2027 elections.
