Dr. Kazeem Babatunde Akande, mni, has warmly congratulated Dr. Moshood Abiola Popoola on his appointment and assumption of office as the Executive/Provost of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Ibadan.
Dr. Akande described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Dr. Popoola’s academic accomplishments, administrative experience, professional competence and contributions to the development of agricultural education, research and human capacity development.
He noted that the leadership of a specialised institution such as the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology requires vision, innovation, sound academic leadership and the ability to bring stakeholders together for sustainable institutional development.
According to Dr. Akande, Dr. Popoola’s assumption of office comes with a significant responsibility to build upon the achievements of the College while introducing fresh initiatives capable of strengthening academic excellence, research and innovation, staff development, student welfare, infrastructure and industry collaboration.
“I warmly congratulate Dr. Moshood Abiola Popoola on this well-deserved appointment and his formal assumption of office as Provost. This is not only an honour but also a call to greater service. I am confident that his experience, scholarship, administrative competence and commitment to institutional development will contribute significantly to the continued advancement of the College.”
Dr. Akande further commended Dr. Popoola’s commitment to research, innovation and agricultural development, stressing that institutions of this nature have a strategic role to play in addressing Nigeria’s challenges in food security, livestock production, animal health, agribusiness, youth employment and sustainable agricultural development.

He urged the new Provost to continue to promote an environment where lecturers, researchers, technologists, administrative staff and students can contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the institution.
Dr. Akande also encouraged Dr. Popoola to strengthen partnerships between the College and relevant government agencies, universities, research institutions, private-sector organisations and international development partners.
“The future of agricultural education and animal production in Nigeria depends greatly on institutions that can combine quality teaching with practical skills, research, innovation and strong industry partnerships.
I therefore encourage the new Provost to make the College a stronger centre of excellence for human-capital development and agricultural transformation.”
He expressed confidence that Dr. Popoola would provide visionary, inclusive, transparent and result-oriented leadership, while maintaining the values of academic integrity, accountability, professionalism and service.
Dr. Akande prayed for wisdom, good health, strength and divine guidance for the new Provost as he undertakes the responsibility of leading the institution.
He also congratulated the management, staff, students, alumni and entire community of the College on the emergence of a substantive Provost, describing it as an important moment in the continued development of the institution.
“I wish Dr. Moshood Abiola Popoola a successful and impactful tenure. May his leadership usher in greater academic excellence, stronger research outcomes, improved infrastructure, enhanced staff and student welfare, and a renewed contribution of the College to Nigeria’s agricultural and economic development.”
Once again, Dr. Kazeem Babatunde Akande, mni, congratulated Dr. Moshood Abiola Popoola and wished him an exceptionally successful tenure in office.
