The Oyo State Supervisors’ Forum has commended Governor ‘Seyi Makinde and security agencies for securing the safe release of the pupils and teachers abducted from Ahoro Esinelẹ Community in Oriire Local Government Area after 55 days in captivity.
The commendation was contained in a statement jointly signed by the Forum Coordinator, Alarape Kabeer Imam, and the Secretary, Azeez Waheed Emiloju, who described the development as a major relief for the affected families, the Ahoro Esinele community, and the entire people of Oyo State.
According to the Forum, the successful rescue of the victims underscores the unwavering commitment of the Makinde administration to safeguard lives and property, as well as the dedication and professionalism of the security agencies involved in the operation.
The Forum applauded Governor Makinde for demonstrating calm, purposeful, and responsible leadership throughout the period of the victims’ captivity, noting that the state government remained steadfast in its efforts to ensure their safe return.

It also expressed appreciation to the various security agencies, local vigilante groups, community leaders, and all stakeholders whose collaboration contributed to the successful outcome, describing the operation as a testament to the effectiveness of coordinated security efforts.
While celebrating the release of the abducted pupils and teachers, the Forum extended its heartfelt congratulations to their families and prayed for the victims’ speedy physical and psychological recovery from the traumatic experience.
The Supervisors’ Forum urged residents of the state to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible and timely information capable of preventing criminal activities, stressing that collective responsibility remains essential to maintaining peace and security across Oyo State.
The Forum further reaffirmed its support for Governor Makinde’s administration, expressing confidence in the government’s resolve to strengthen security architecture and sustain policies aimed at protecting the lives and welfare of all residents.
It concluded by calling on citizens to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and united in promoting a peaceful and secure Oyo State.
