Ibadan South West LG Chairman, Akande Empowers Students with Educational Support Scheme …. sets to give five million to best students in NECO 2026 Examination 

In a bid to promote academic excellence and support the education sector, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Honourable Kehinde Akande, has awarded sponsorship for NECO examination forms to outstanding students.

The beneficiaries, selected from various secondary schools within the local government, were urged to maintain good conduct and strive for excellence in their studies. Akande emphasized that character and hard work remain the foundation for success, promising a ₦250,000 cash reward to each of the 20 student who excels in the NECO examination.

The education community has welcomed the Chairman’s initiative, which includes plans to upgrade the Molete Library into a modern ICT Center. This move is expected to provide students with access to digital learning resources, enhancing their academic experience and equipping them with the skills needed for global competitiveness.

Akande also expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, for his commitment to improving education in the state. He commended the Governor’s visionary leadership and ongoing investment in educational infrastructure, acknowledging the positive impact on the state’s education sector.

The supervisory councillor for education, Honourable Abiodun, commended Akande’s efforts, affirming education as a priority for the administration. The event was attended by Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Alhaji Abolaji Hazzan Bello, and Mrs. Ewulo Lydia HOU.
