of Oyo State Local Government Pensions Board, Hon. Akemm Ademola-Ige has called Nigerians to embrace public education for due growth and competition of their wards in life.


The grassroots mobilizer stated this during the Catch Them Young Campaign Initiative held at Christ Church Mapo Primary School 1, Odinjo, Ibadan, on Thursday.
He expressed his delight in development of Nigerian elementary education, saying he has not regretted attending a government owned elementary school in Oyo State.

Former chairman of Ibadan South East described his return to the school as a generational joy, noting that the school positioned him for greatness in life.


“My return here todat has brought back good memories, what a generational joy to return to my alma mata after over forty years”


“This is where I started. This is my beginning. This is my foundation. If today I will say I have a master’s degree in Public Administration, I started from here. Christ Church Mapo Primary School 1, Odinjo, Ibadan”

A master’s degree holder in Public Administration maintained that government owned schools have produced 89 percent of describable successful individuals in Nigeria, including the President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Aliko Dangote, Goodswill Akpabio, Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, among others.
Hon. Ademola-Ige who pledged continued support for grassroots community and elementary education in Ibadan land, urged successful individuals to return to their respective alma mata for a generational impact.
” Now that it has been confirmed that 89 percent of successful individuals in Nigeria attended primary schools, it is an utmost plea to them to return dividends of impacts to their respective schools.”
Meanwhile, the Polytechnic of Ibadan and Ladoke Akintola University Ogbomosho Alumnus who boasted the infrastructure development within the schools in Oyo State, including the Christ Apostolic Primary School Mapo I, abolishment of school levies by Seyi Makinde led government, saying the initiatives have helped to push downward the out-of-school population in the state.
He urged the pupils to face their studies squarely for a greater competitive future, calling them to disregard the saying,” Education is scam”, describing the slogan misleading, destructive and future damaging.
In his brief remarks, Education Secretary of Ibadan South East Local Government, Mr. Gabriel Oyebamiji called parents to enrol their wards in public schools, with due support, love and care, saying doing so will help to protect and nurture their wards societal heights in future.
In her reaction, the chief coordinator of Catch Them Young Campaign Initiative, Mrs. Ayodeni Aluko commended the school management for resiliently training the pupils, assuring of supporting the most performing pupils in Oyo State primary schools.

Pupils’ coordinator for inaugurated clubs are Muideen Koreem ( Health), Ismail Faridah ( Environmental Club), Mojeed Anon ( Press Club), Abduldalam Yusroh ( Security), and Okanlawon Wumi (Jet Club)respectively, while various educational items included sandals, socks, exercise books and undisclosed cash gifts.
