Ona Ara Local Government has further strengthened its commitment to community safety and quality education with the donation of motorcycles to frontline security agencies and the distribution of chairs to selected public primary schools across the local government area.

The intervention, carried out under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Dr. Temitope Kolapo Glorious, forms part of deliberate efforts to enhance grassroots security operations and improve the learning environment for pupils in public schools, in line with the council’s development priorities.
The motorcycles were presented to key security outfits operating within Ona Ara Local Government, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Local Hunters Group, Vigilante Group, and the Task Force, to boost mobility, surveillance, and rapid response to security challenges at the community level.

In the education sector, chairs were distributed to the following beneficiary schools to address classroom needs and improve pupils’ comfort:


• Basic School, Olosunde
• Olorunsogo Basic School

• Christ Anglican School, Amoloko

• St. John Primary School, Badeku
• Afolu Model School, Oremeji
The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, who was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Education, Olusegun Olayiwola, lauded the Executive Chairman for his proactive and people-centered leadership. He noted that the initiatives reflect the spirit of good governance championed by the Makinde administration, particularly in the critical sectors of education and security.
Addressing journalists, Dr. Temitope Kolapo Glorious reiterated that education and security are core pillars of his New Era Agenda. He charged the beneficiary security agencies to make judicious use of the motorcycles within their jurisdictions, while urging school authorities to ensure proper utilization and maintenance of the chairs for the benefit of learners.
“We will continue to support education and improve the quality of life of our people. A safe environment and a sound educational foundation are critical to sustainable development,” the Chairman stated.
Dignitaries at the event included the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Femi Abolade Yerima; the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Sunmonu; the Chief of Staff, Hon. Isiaka Arinola; the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja Ojewumi; as well as management staff, Supervisory Councillors, and Special Assistants.
Goodwill messages were delivered by the Ona Ara Party Chairman, Alfa Kehinde Adeyemo, alongside Hon. Mufutau Olatunde Ogunremi, Hon. Mosobalaje Bakare, and Chief Waheed Ajao Adurodekun. The speakers unanimously commended Dr. Temitope Kolapo Glorious for his developmental strides and inclusive leadership, describing the interventions as timely and impactful for community safety and educational advancemen
