Makinde Shines as Ibadan Hosts Flawless PDP Convention, Akinyele Council Boss, Hon Akinwole Akinleye Hails Turaki, Arapaja, Others

The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, has congratulated the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for what he described as a historic, seamless and exceptionally coordinated hosting of the 2025 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention in Ibadan. He commended the Governor for once again proving his organisational brilliance, strategic depth and unwavering loyalty to the growth of the PDP.

In a statement made available to the public through his Chief Media Aide, Ogundipe Miracle, Hon.Akinwole Akinleye noted that Ibadan did not merely host a national convention, but showcased a masterclass in political orderliness under Governor Makinde’s leadership. He described the event as a reflection of the Governor’s steady hands, uncommon humility, and visionary commitment to building a stronger and more united PDP. “Governor Seyi Makinde has shown, beyond doubt, that he is the stabilising force and mentor our party needs at this critical time,” he said.

Hon. Akinwole Akinleye also extended warm congratulations to the newly elected National Chairman of the PDP, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, praising him as a distinguished statesman and a symbol of renewed hope for the party. He expressed confidence that Turaki’s emergence would usher in a fresh direction, unity and greater national relevance for the PDP, noting that his pedigree and integrity make him the right leader for the moment.

Hon Akinwole Akinleye further celebrated Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, the newly elected National Secretary and illustrious son of Oyo State, describing his elevation as well-earned and deeply inspiring. According to him, Arapaja has consistently made the state proud, and his new role presents yet another opportunity for him to excel and strengthen the party’s national structure.

Hon. Akinwole Akinleye concluded by congratulating all newly elected national officers of the PDP, urging them to uphold unity, loyalty and collective commitment to the progress of the party. He added that the success of the 2025 National Convention has once again positioned Ibadan and by extension Oyo State as the political heartbeat of the South West, giving credit to the visionary and people-centric leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde.
