Akeem Olatinji bags outstanding Council Chairman of the year award from Radio Nigeria S’West Zonal Office

The Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji, has been honored with the prestigious Outstanding Council Chairman of the Year Award by the South West Zonal Office of Radio Nigeria.

The presentation took place today at the station’s zonal office in Ibadan, Oyo State, with the Zonal Director, Mr. Dominic Mokikan, personally presenting the award.

Speaking during the presentation, Mokikan explained that the recognition was a result of Radio Nigeria’s independent monitoring and assessment of Olatunji’s leadership and developmental strides in Oluyole Local Government.

He noted that the LG boss had consistently matched his campaign promises with visible achievements that positively impacted the people at the grassroots.

“Our recognition is based on a thorough monitoring of activities of Engr. Akeem Olatunji. He clearly stands out for his performance, people-oriented projects, and fulfillment of campaign promises,” Mokikan said.

He explained that the award is, therefore, a testament to Olatunji’s commitment to good governance at the grassroots level and the well-being of his people.

In his response, Olatunji expressed appreciation to Radio Nigeria for the honor, describing the award as a motivation to do more for his people.

He dedicated the recognition to the governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde and Otunba Seye Famujoro, who he described as his political benefactor and leaders.

Olatinji also dedicated the award to residents of Oluyole Local Government and management team, whom he said had been supportive of his administration.

He assured that his administration will not deviate from its people-centered governance in all of its initiatives and programs in line with the vision of the governor’s Sustainable Development Agenda.

The event was attended by senior officials of Radio Nigeria, Leader of Oluyole LG Legislative House, Hon. Taofeeq Azeez and other Councilors, the Secretary General to the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland,Edo and Delta, Alhaji Salaam Azeez, political leaders, who commended the radio station for promoting accountability by spotlighting exemplary leadership.

The leader of Oluyole LG Legislative House, Hon. Azeez said the recognition has further cemented Olatunji’s reputation as the most proactive local government chairmen in Oyo State one of the best in the south west with ongoing projects in rural electrification, road rehabilitation, socio-economic improvement, and community development.
