In a continuous effort to bolster community safety and improve public welfare, Hon. Abiodun Babalola, Ph.D, Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan North East Constituency 1, has extended his “Lights Up Project” by installing solar-powered streetlights across several underserved neighborhoods.

As part of this new phase, solar lights were installed in Dalegan Compound, Idi Ofi Compound, Alapafon Compound (Ojagbo), Ifelodun Adekile Compound, Obisesan Compound (Iyana Church), and Aiku Compound (Gbelekale).
This comes as a continuation of his earlier interventions, including the donation of 45 solar lights to 15 communities earlier in the year, the electrification of Agugu Police Station with solar lighting, and the recent support of ₦500,000 to the newly commissioned Operation Burst office in Ibadan North East Local Government, along with a pledge to install solar floodlights for night visibility.

Residents in the newly lit areas expressed deep appreciation for the lawmaker’s consistent commitment to improving their living conditions. Many noted a significant reduction in nighttime insecurity and improved economic activity in their communities. One elder stated that the new lights have restored confidence and movement after dark.

Hon. Babalola’s approach to infrastructure development and grassroots empowerment has been widely acknowledged as impactful and sincere. His continued investment in solar energy reflects a sustainable strategy to meet the energy needs of his constituency while addressing public safety and community development.

As these solar lights continue to brighten the paths of Ibadan North East Constituency 1, the people look forward to more life-enhancing projects from their representative—whose name has become synonymous with integrity, service, and meaningful change.
