Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan on Sunday, held Ikorodu City to a 2-2 draw in the opening match of the Eko International Cup 2025.


The pre season tourney’s opener, played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos, saw the Oluyole Warriors claim an early lead courtesy of Gideon Monday’s fifth minute goal, after a howler by the Ikorodu City goalie, Oyeyoga Akeem.
The homers levelled up in the 16th minute after Oyedokun Tosin converted a penalty kick awarded hos side, to end the first half 1-1.

Joseph Arumala’s 50th minute stunner, gave Ikorodu City a 2-1 led before skipper Abayomi Adebayo levels up for the Stars, with minutes remaining to force a share of the spoils in the Group A match.


Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of 3SC, Honourable Taiwo Lekan Salami, was on hand to watch the game, few hours after addressing them before their departure from Ibadan.

Minutes before the kick off, Honourable Salami addressed the players
in the dressing room, motivating them to go all out for victory in the encounter.
Shooting Stars’ next match in the tournament is scheduled for Wednesday against Rivers United of Port Harcourt.
