The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Alhaja Wasiilat Adegoke, paid a motivational visit to Crown FC’s camp in Asaba ahead of their crucial match against Osun United.

The state delegates, including the Director for Sports Facilities, Ministry for Youth and Sports , Mr Raheem and Mr. Kehinde Adebayo Ojelowo, who doubles as the Director for Organisation and Secretary to Oyo State Football Association, met with the 26 players, technical officials, and management of the club to boost their morale and charge them for the match.

The visit, which took place on Monday morning at the hotel of the club in Asaba, was aimed at motivating the players to secure a win against Osun United in their quest for promotion to the elite league. Crown FC lost narrowly to Kun Khalifat FC by 1-0 on Saturday in the southern group opening match, while Osun United edged Warrri Wolves by a lone goal.

Speaking to the players, Alhaja Wasiilat commended them for their spirit, teamwork, and performance against Kun Khalifat FC. She urged them to remain focused, determined, committed, and keep the momentum going. “I’m not here to blame or make you feel bad regarding your defeat against Kun Khalifat. We all watched how you outplayed them right from the kick-off. The one thing left to do is to utilise chances. We had like three chances but not convert. I want to urge you to remain focused, determined, committed, and keep the momentum going.”

The commissioner also thanked the entire technical crew, backroom staff, and everyone who contributed to the team’s Super 8 qualification. She assured the players that the state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, is solidly behind them. “Today’s match is a must win, and the state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, is solidly behind you. I also want to thank the entire technical crew, backroom staff, and everyone who contributed to the team’s Super 8 qualification. We are for us come rain and shine.”

The Ajilete Warriors will face Osun United at 4 pm, while Warrri Wolves will trade tackles with Kun Khalifat FC at 2 pm. The outcome of these matches will determine the teams’ chances of promotion to the elite league, and Crown FC will need to secure a win to keep their promotion hopes alive.
