Hon. Prince Oladeji Oparinde, the member representing Afijio State Constituency at the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly, has taken a significant step toward enhancing security and community development in his constituency with the donation of 30 solar-powered street lights.

The installation of the street lights spans across Ward 8, Ward 9, and Ward 2 within the AFIJIO constituency. This initiative aims to improve night-time visibility, promote safety, and boost socio-economic activities in these communities.
The street lights were formally received by the respective ward chairmen, ward councillors, and the party vice chairman in a modest handover ceremony that took place in each of the beneficiary wards. Community leaders and residents expressed their appreciation for the intervention, which they described as timely and impactful.

Speaking on the gesture, Hon. Oparinde reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development and community welfare. He emphasized that this donation is one of many efforts to fulfill his campaign promises and bring tangible benefits to the people he represents.

“I am deeply committed to the progress of Afijio. These solar street lights are not just for illumination but also for safety and economic upliftment. Our people deserve to feel secure and empowered, even after sunset,” Hon. Oparinde stated.

The lawmaker also expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, for their consistent support and leadership.
Their guidance and partnership, he noted, have been instrumental in enabling lawmakers like himself to deliver effective representation and bring development closer to the people.

Residents have begun witnessing the installation of the solar lights, and the atmosphere in the affected wards reflects a renewed hope for continued infrastructure and social development.
