The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ona Ara Local Government Chairmanship Candidate, Dr. Kolapo Temitope Glorious, alongside his vice chairmanship candidate, Rotn. Windapo Oluwole, commenced their campaign under the GLORIOUS/WINDAPO campaign council with a visit to Ward 2 and Ward 10, amidst a warm reception from party stakeholders.

According to a report by the Director General, Media and Publicity of GLOWIN24, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, the campaign tour commenced with a strategic meeting at the party secretariat in Olunloyo, where the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Muhammad Abiodun Fadeyi, generously donated funds and campaign materials to support the party’s candidates. He urged party faithfuls to mobilize support for the upcoming local government elections.

In his response, the Director-General of the GLOWIN Campaign Council, Chief Waheed Ajao Aderodekun, expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Speaker, Honourable Muhammad Abiodun Fadeyi, for the support and donation. He also sought the indulgence of the party faithful to appreciate the Jagunmolu Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, who is the Chairman of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, for his immense and continuous support. Additionally, he acknowledged campaign support from the Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Hon. Musibau Sanusi SHABA, towards the success of the upcoming Local Government Elections.

During the campaign trail, the team inherited a former APC councillor, Hon. Tunde Jenrade and his over 1000 supporters, symbolizing a significant shift in political allegiance. Hon. Mosobalaje Bakare, the PDP Ona Ara Local Government Party Chairman, paid homage to the late Hon. Taofeek Olayiwola and welcomed the newly decamped councillor.

Prominent figures including the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Sustainable Development Goals SDG and Deputy PDP State Chairman (Central), Hon. Muftau Ogunremi and Full-time Member, Oyo Local Government service commission who doubles as the Deputy Director General, GLOWIN Ona Ara Campaign Council, Hon Taiwo Oke encouraged grassroots campaigning, emphasizing the importance of community engagement.

The Director General GLOWIN Ona Ara campaign council, Chief Waheed Ajao Aderodekun announced Dr. Kolapo Temitope Glorious and Rotr. Windapo Oluwole as chairmanship and vice chairmanship candidates respectively, and Hon. Abass Akanji as the Councillorship Candidate for Ward 2.

Similar enthusiasm marked the visit to Ward 10, where Hon. Ayoade Idris was unveiled as the Councillorship Candidate. The campaign received overwhelming support from the community, with leaders expressing confidence in the PDP’s ability to secure victory.
