Among the myriad of challenges confronting Nigerian society, one issue that has garnered significant attention in recent times is the growing menace of drug abuse among the youths and women. This hydra-headed problem has assumed alarming proportions, claiming countless lives, destroying families, and undermining the very fabric of our society.

In a time when the menace of drug abuse is eroding the moral fabric of our society, especially among youths and vulnerable adults, the unwavering advocacy of Rep. Abass Adigun Agboworin against this scourge stands is commendable. His relentless fight against drug abuse is an effective step toward securing a brighter future for the younger generation.

Rep. Abass Adigun Agboworin, as the Chairman, House Committee on Narcotic Drugs has consistently demonstrated an unyielding commitment to safeguarding the lives and destinies of young people who are often lured into the destructive world of substance abuse through different means possible.

His public enlightenment campaigns, grassroots sensitization efforts, and support for rehabilitation programmes have significantly raised awareness of the dangers of drug addiction. By actively engaging stakeholders; traditional rulers, religious leaders, security agencies, and educational institutions, he has been at the forefront of ensuring that Oyo State and Nigeria’s teeming youth are protected from the grip of narcotics and other harmful substances.

His advocacy is not just about rhetoric; it is backed by action. Through collaboration with relevant agencies — the NDLEA and NOA, Agboworin has helped push for policies aimed at curbing drug peddling and addiction while also providing economic opportunities that prevent vulnerable individuals from falling into the trap of substance abuse. His vision aligns with the progressive governance of Engineer Seyi Makinde, whose administration prioritizes youth empowerment, security, and socio-economic transformation.

Beyond his fight against drug abuse, Rep. Abass Adigun Agboworin has proven himself as a leader with a clear vision for development, mirroring the dynamic governance style of Governor Seyi Makinde, His contributions to infrastructure growth, human capacity building, and innovative policies are reshaping the socio-political and economic landscape of Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency, Oyo state and Nigeria at large.

Leadership is about results, and Agboworin has demonstrated that he is not just a politician but a statesman with a passion for service.

His impactful policies and grassroots connection prove that he deserves to be elevated to a higher political position.

With his pragmatic approach to governance, strategic thinking, and people-oriented initiatives, he has the potential to further drive development at a broader level.

His ability to bridge the gap between government and the people, much like Governor Seyi Makinde, makes him a valuable asset in the political landscape of Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

Rep. Abass Adigun Agboworin’s leadership has set a new standard in representation, proving that true governance is about impact, vision, and service. His fight against drug abuse, commitment to infrastructure and human development, and his drive for innovation make him a leader that Oyo State cannot afford to lose.

As he continues to emulate the people’s governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, we pray that God grants him the strength and wisdom to do even more. It is imperative that the people of Ibadan North East/South East, Ibadan, Oyo State and beyond rally behind such a progressive, dynamic, and result driven leader, ensuring that his influence extends to higher political offices in due time where he can continue to champion the dividends of democracy for the greater good.

Oyo State needs more leaders like Agboworin: leaders who prioritize the welfare of the people above personal interests.

His doggedness, innovation, and commitment to progress are why we must continue to support and elevate him for the future of a new innovative and a prosperous Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency, we have never had it so good in past years, as a matter of fact,
