The Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced the list of nominees for the 2025 Youth Award in various categories. This initiative aims to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of young people in Oyo State.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports is committed to promoting sports development, encourage growth and excellence in sports, providing skills and opportunities for young people to succeed as well as equipping young people with necessary skills and knowledge

Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision for Oyo State prioritizes youth development and empowerment, with initiatives aimed at creating opportunities and support for young people to thrive in various fields. The Ministry of Youth and Sports plays a pivotal role in this endeavor, focusing on building a dynamic, multi-skilled youth that adds value to themselves and society.

The administration’s efforts have led to a significant response, with over 8,000 nominations received for the Youth Award between March 24th and 28th. This suggests a strong interest in recognizing and celebrating the achievements of young people in Oyo State

The Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports is moving forward with its award program, announcing that shortlisted nominees will soon enter the voting stage.

Verification Process: Shortlisted nominees will be contacted for verification to ensure the accuracy of their submissions.
Next Voting Stage: Verified nominees will then proceed to the next round of voting, where winners will be determined.
Transparency Efforts: To maintain transparency, the ministry has made the nomination list publicly available for scrutiny.

This initiative is part of the ministry’s efforts to promote youth development and sports growth in Oyo State, aligning with Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision for the state’s youth.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports, led by Commissioner Wasilat Adegoke Adefemi, aims to empower young people and enhance sports infrastructure in the state.

The award ceremony is expected to take place on April 30th this year, where winners will be announced and honoured for their achievements.

The event will provide a platform for young people to network, share ideas, and learn from each other’s experiences.
