Akintayo Sponsors Inter-Secondary School Quiz and Debate Competition to Promote Educational Excellence

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo popularly called (O mu Yes) has once again demonstrated his passion for academic excellence and talent development among young students by sponsoring the Inter-Secondary School Quiz and Debate Competition for secondary schools within Ibadan North East LG, held on 13th March 2023 at the Council premises.

In a release signed by the Council’s Information Officer, Ikeoye Oyetoro, the competition which was meant to enhance knowledge and discover exceptional talents among young secondary school students was a huge success as Students from various secondary schools within Ibadan North East LG turned up in large numbers for the event.

The Secretary to the local government, Hon Afolabi Olufemi who represented the Executive Chairman, hon Ibrahim Akintayo at the event said the Chairman have a keen interest in promoting any cause that concerns the educational development of students and will always encourage them by supporting programmes that will improve them academically

Under his leadership, the local government has consistently prioritized initiatives that promote academic excellence and youth development, Hon Afolabi disclosed.

Similarly, Mr. Adedoyin Adekunle, the Local Government Inspector (LGI), Ibadan North East LG, commended Chairman Akintayo saying his passion for academic excellence is second to none and his generosity and love for corps members are evident.

He added that Akintayo’s commitment to providing a platform for students to showcase their knowledge, skills, and talents is truly commendable.

The competition featured various categories, including quiz, family dance, special talents, and beauty pageants. Several secondary schools in the local government area participated, and the winners in each category were awarded prizes.

Conclusively, Mr Adedoyin Adekunle, on behalf of the NYSC Management and serving corps members, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Chairman Akintayo for his dedication to youth development and academic excellence. His efforts have not only inspired the participating students but have also contributed significantly to the betterment of the community.

The event was also graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, invited guests, political functionaries and some management staff from Ibadan North East LG, invited guests, students, teachers, and corps members.
