The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo Glorious, has responded to a distress call from the Ifesowapo Landlord and Landladies Association of Oluawo Oke Odo, who sought urgent government intervention for the rehabilitation of the main road linking their community.

Welcoming the Chairman and his entourage on behalf of the community, General Chairman, Alhaji Jubril Akanni Adeyemi, commended the self-help efforts of the residents in driving development in the area. He emphasized the expansion and growing population of the Ifesowapo Landlord and Landladies Association, which comprises nine general associations: Ifelajulo Oke Odo, Ifelajulo Temidire, Isokan Olode, Akingbade, Alagbede, Olokonla, Aileru, and Ogidi General.
Alhaji Adeyemi passionately appealed for urgent government intervention to rehabilitate the main road connecting their area to Oluawo Community. He further highlighted the condition of the self-financed community hospital, requesting government support to improve healthcare services in the area.

Additionally, the association offered two plots of land for any government project that would benefit the people. He also called for the establishment of a polling unit, citing the significant population growth in the community.
During the visit, the Chairman and his entourage inspected the community’s healthcare centre and the donated land, acknowledging the residents’ commitment to fostering development.

In his response, Dr. Temitope Kolapo Glorious expressed appreciation for the community’s dedication to progress. He noted that he was aware of the challenges facing the Oluawo Oke Odo community even before assuming office as the Local Government Chairman.
He advised the community to formalize their requests in writing and submit them to the Local Government Secretariat while urging them to continue supporting and praying for Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, which remains committed to the infrastructural development of Oyo State.
As an immediate intervention, the Chairman announced the donation of solar-powered streetlights, which will be installed along the main road through a working distance to enhance security and improve nighttime visibility.
The meeting ended on a hopeful note, with community leaders expressing their gratitude for the Chairman’s swift response and looking forward to continued government support.
