In a significant move to bolster security in Egbeda Local Government and its environs, Hon. Sikiru Oyedele Sanda, the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Chairman of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State, has commissioned the newly constructed Police Area Command in Maku.
The commissioning ceremony, which took place at the well-furnished facility, was attended by dignitaries, security operatives, traditional rulers, and community stakeholders. The project is expected to enhance the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force in tackling crime and ensuring the safety of residents.
In a commendation statement made available to 9ja News 24/7, Aare Agba’Akin Ataiyse Omoluabi Oodua Agbaye, Oloye Benedict Akika commended Hon. Sanda for his unwavering commitment to community development and security. He praised the Egbeda Local Government Chairman for prioritizing the welfare of the people by investing in security infrastructure.
“This newly constructed Police Area Command is a testament to Hon. Sanda’s dedication to the safety and well-being of the people of Egbeda. Security is the foundation of development, and this initiative will go a long way in improving law enforcement in the area,” Agba’Akin Akika stated.
The newly constructed Police Area Command is equipped with modern facilities, including administrative offices, detention cells, and residential quarters for officers. Residents expressed their appreciation, noting that the presence of a fully operational Police Command in Maku would significantly reduce crime rates and enhance community policing.
As the event concluded, the Founder of Omituntun Benedict Foundation, Chief Akika pledged support to ensuring the success of the new command and Egbeda Local Government while commending the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde emphasized on security as a key pillar of sustainable development in Oyo State.
