In a ceremony held today at the stadium, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke, Oyo Commissioner for Youth and Sports, presented the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) awards to deserving members of the Shooting Stars team. Mustapha Lawal, the team’s number one keeper, received the NPFL Best Keeper of the Month award, while Head Coach Gbenga Ogunbote was honoured with the NPFL Best Manager of the Month award.

This recognition is symbolic to the hard work and dedication of both Lawal and Ogunbote, who have been instrumental in the team’s success. Honourable Adegoke’s presence at the ceremony underscores the Oyo State government’s commitment to supporting sports development in the region.

In her remarks, Honourable Adegoke congratulated Lawal and Ogunbote on their well-deserved awards, praising their contributions to the team’s progress. She emphasized the importance of recognizing and rewarding excellence in sports, noting that it serves as a motivation for athletes to strive for greater heights.

“We are proud of the achievements of Shooting Stars, and we are committed to supporting the team in their quest for success,” Honourable Adegoke said. “These awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the players and coaches, and we are honoured to recognize their achievements.” Chairman of Shooting Stars Football Club,Hon. Babatunde Olaniyan, expressed strong confidence in the team’s readiness for the second half of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL)

Lawal, who has been in impressive form for Shooting Stars, expressed his gratitude to the Oyo State government and the NPFL for the award. He dedicated the award to his teammates and coaches, saying that it was a collective effort that earned him the recognition.
