The Ikolaba High School football stadium was filled to the brim as a mammoth crowd of spectators from within and outside Ibadan North Local Government gathered to witness the final game of the Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade Under-18 Football Competition.

This thrilling competition, which has been ongoing for weeks, saw Shining Star FC and United Star FC face off in the final match.

In his speech, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, expressed his gratitude to all the dignitaries and sports lovers who attended the final game and followed the competition from the beginning to the end.

He extended his appreciation to the coaches’ association in Oyo State for their pivotal role in ensuring the competition’s success.

He praised all the participating teams, describing them as winners.

Hon. Olufade also gave special recognition to the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Sulaimon Olayode, for his dedication to sports development.

He described Sulaimon as one of the promising youths in Oyo State and expressed pride in sharing the same local government with him.

He promised that the competition would become an annual event, ensuring the people of Ibadan North Local Government can look forward to continuous editions of the tournament.

In a closely contested match, Shining Star FC emerged victorious, defeating United Star FC by a goal to nil.

After the final whistle, medals and trophies were presented by various dignitaries.

Hon. Wole Akinleye, the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, decorated the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, with a medal.

Hon. Michael Ogunsina, the Oyo State PDP Youth Leader and Acting Publicity Secretary, decorated the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON), with a medal, while the Deputy Chief of Staff of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Hamdy Mustapha, was decorated by the Chairman of 3SC, Hon. Babatunde Akoro.

Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle presented the winner’s medal to Shining Star FC, and the Chairman of Oyo State Housing Corporation, Hon. Demola Omotoso, presented the cup to the victorious team.

The final match was graced by notable personalities, including the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON); Executive Vice Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Akeem Ayoade; Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Wole Akinleye; Chief of Staff of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Hamdy Mustapha; Secretary of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwafemi Bantu; former Caretaker Chairman of Aare Lotosa LCDA, Hon. Kazeem Oshoniyi; Chairman of 3SC, Hon. Babatunde Akoro; Chairman of Oyo State Housing Corporation, Hon. Ademola Omotoso; Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami; Baba Ismaila Ashipa; Oyo State PDP Youth Leader and Acting Publicity Secretary, Hon. Michael Ogunsina; Hon. Joshua Oladapo (Jossy); Hon. Abiodun Agboluaje; Hon. Mayowa; Baba Ayilara; and various Ibadan North Local Government Supervisory Councilors and Special Assistants.
