As part of strategic efforts to boost the state’s digital economy, enhance capacity of youths in Oyo state towards leveraging on the emerging global market for employment opportunities geared towards economic gains, no fewer than 3,000 youths have registered and enlisted to participate in a 2-Day intensive digital skill training program.
Chairman of the Youth Development Agency, Oyo State, Prince Adebowale Falana, confirmed this to newsmen today at a press conference held in his office at the state secretariat, Ibadan.
According to Prince Falana, the 2 days intensive digital skill training program comprising both theory and practical sessions aimed at equipping 3,000 young individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 years with essential skills for the growth of Oyo state digital economy.
The training, which will cover various areas, including web development, digital marketing, graphic design, and content creation and online publication, Prince Falana has stated.
The Youth Development Agency boss, who noted that over 12,000 youths have already registered for the training program, emphasized the importance of adapting to technological advancements and preparing the youth for the demands of the modern workforce while harnessing the various youthful talents being channeled towards wrong and unproductive courses on social media.
“This program is not just about training; it’s about creating pathways to employment and entrepreneurship. The training will be conducted in partnership with a number of organizations collaborating with the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde as part of their support this government.
He added that graduates of the training program will also receive government backed e-certificates and opportunity for at least a five months period of free mentorship by IT experts in the industry to prepare them adequately for the real world of work where they can use their acquired skills to earn decent and legitimate income.
Prince Falana however, assured that the program would be expanded in the future in order to cater for others interested in digital literacy and skills acquisition.
Representative of THX22 Foundation, an arm of 22Bet, Mr. Adebayo Ajala, said, partnering with the Oyo state government through the Youth Development Agency was part of its corporate social responsibility aimed towards giving back to the society.

The training program implementation committee chairman, Ayoade Olusegun, in his brief remarks, expressed optimism about the transformative prospects and potential of the 2 days event in enhancing Oyo state’s digital economy and creating thousands of job opportunities for participants.
