In a proactive move to prevent cholera outbreaks in Ibadan South West Local Government, Honourable Kehinde Akande, Chairman of Ibadan South West LG, and Honourable Tajudeen Adigun, Vice Chairman, led a sensitization program across some wards in the local government.
The initiative, aimed at educating workers, councillors, political appointees, and residents on cholera prevention and control measures, is a collaborative effort between the local government and health experts.
According to a statement released today, the sensitization program focus on promoting good hygiene practices, safe water sources, and proper waste management to prevent the spread of cholera.
“The health and wellbeing of our residents is our top priority,” said Honourable Akande. “We are committed to taking proactive steps to prevent cholera outbreaks and ensure a healthy environment for all.”
Honourable Adigun added, “We urge all residents to participate in this sensitization program and take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their families from cholera.”
The program has senior staff of the local government, councillors, Supervisory Councillors, Special Assistants and other stakeholders with teams visiting various wards to sensitize and engage with residents on cholera prevention strategies.
