You Have Achieved What No One Has Ever Done,” Ibarapakan Congratulates Makinde on Historic Coronation of New Alaafin

Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has congratulated His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde, on the historic coronation of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, as the 46th Alaafin of Oyo Town.

The lawmaker, who joined his colleagues and an array of dignitaries from all walks of life on Saturday at Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo, where the momentous coronation of the new Alaafin took place, felicitated with all the descendants of Oyo Town.

Hon. Adepoju said history will forever remember Governor Makinde for good, saying the Governor’s native intelligence and his commitment to due process were instrumental to the smooth selection of the new Alaafin.

The lawmaker expressed that the tranquillity experienced in all the communities that have had their monarch coronated under the administration of Gov. Makinde, including but not limited to Igboora, Ogbomoso, Iseyin, Igangan, Tapa, Ibadan and Oyo Town, is, without mincing words, a demonstration of effective leadership.

The Ibarapa-born technocrat cum politician reiterated that crowning all the paramount rulers in Oyo State was a monumental feat never achieved by any Governor in Oyo State but under the administration of Engr. Seyi Makinde, a record he said echoes perfectly with the name he proudly bears, “Makinde”.

“The prestige, value and honour that Engr. Seyi Makinde has brought to our tradition are what no true Yoruba son and daughter will forget in a hurry. Since his election in 2019, he has passionately committed himself to promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba people.

“Every facet of our society today has experienced enormous gestures of his impactful leadership, leaving a legacy of honour and respect for future generations.” he said.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character, however, prayed that the reign of Oba Owoade brings prosperity and peaceful coexistence to Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
