Wole Akinleye Grassroot Credentials Affirmed: Great Support for Football Competition

‘We must come to see that the end we seek is a society at peace with itself, a society that can live with its conscience’

This was the quote that inspired Hon Akinwole Akinleye, the PDP Chairmanship Candidate for Akinyele Local Government, to sponsor a football tournament that brought together people from different communities and backgrounds in Oyo State.

The tournament, which was organized by Mr Yemi Aderinwale, also known as Yemi OOLE, was held from December 2020 to February 2024, and marked the 10th anniversary of his annual football competition. The grand finale took place on Sunday, 11th February 2024, and attracted a large crowd of spectators and dignitaries.

Among the guests were prominent members of the PDP, such as Oloye Akin Aderibigbe, PDP Chairman, Akinyele LGA, Agbaakin Benedict, PDP Stalwart, Hon Deacon Kehinde, the Hon rep of Akinyele 2 Constituency, Hon Lekan Abiola, the Hon Rep of Akinyele 1 State constituency, Hon Adeaga, Sen Kamorudeen Mudashiru, the Lagelu PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Hon Seun Olufade, the Ibadan North PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Big Daddy Sugar, Hon Kunle Ogundele, Hon Olalere Solomon, and Chairman Eledua Hall.

They all came to show their support and appreciation for Hon Akinwole Akinleye, who has been working tirelessly to improve the lives and welfare of the people of Akinyele Local Government.

The event also featured a free health check for the participants and the audience, where they were screened and advised by medical professionals. This was a gesture of goodwill and care from Hon Akinwole Akinleye, who believes that health is wealth.

The highlight of the day was the final match between ATA FC and their opponents, who had both fought hard to reach the last stage of the tournament. It was a thrilling game that showcased the skills and talents of the young players, who gave their best to win the trophy and the cash prize.
