Tinubu ‘Eats Once a Day,’ Walks to Office — Zacch NRS Boss

President Bola Tinubu eats only once a day and sometimes walks from his residence to his office, the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji, has said.

Adedeji made the claim during an interview with Channels Television on Sunday while defending the President against concerns over the alleged lavish lifestyles of political office holders amid the country’s economic hardship.

Speaking with journalist Seun Okinbaloye, the NRS chairman said Tinubu’s lifestyle did not amount to “living large”, despite his position as President.
According to him, Tinubu usually walks from his residence to his office and only uses a vehicle when travelling to the airport.

“Mr President goes from home to office on foot, not even driving except when he is going to the airport. I don’t know where you see the convoy,” Adedeji said.

He also claimed that the President had not travelled outside Nigeria in the past three months, describing him as focused on reviewing government documents and attending to official duties.

Adedeji further dismissed questions about the number of Cadillac Escalades reportedly attached to Tinubu’s convoy, arguing that the President could afford such vehicles.

“How much is an Escalade that the president of Nigeria cannot afford? Please don’t embarrass this country,” he said.

Defending Tinubu’s lifestyle, Adedeji added, “The president eats once in a day. How many parties have you seen him at in the last three years? Tell me where you have seen him, whether on holiday or anywhere?”

His comments come amid renewed public debate over government spending and the lifestyles of political leaders, as Nigerians grapple with rising living costs and persistent economic pressures.
