The Oyo State governorship aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Oloye Adegboyega Toafeek Adegoke FCA, Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland has expressed renewed confidence in the Nigerian judiciary following a recent court judgement delivered on April 30, 2026, describing it as a strong signal that justice can still prevail in the country.

Reacting shortly after the judgement, Adegoke commended the judiciary for what he termed a “bold and impartial interpretation of the law,” insisting that the decision has further reinforced hope in Nigeria’s democratic institutions.

“There is still hope in the Nigerian judiciary. What we have witnessed today shows that our courts can stand firm, speak truth to power, and defend the principles of fairness and justice,” he said.

The ADC governorship hopeful who is the chairman of Solutions 93.9 FM Ibadan stressed that Nigeria has never been and can never become a one-party state, noting that democracy thrives only when opposition voices are protected and respected.

“Nigeria has never been a one-party state and it can never be. Our democracy must continue to reflect the will of the people through fairness, inclusion, and respect for due process,” he added.

He emphasized that the political ideology which he believes is ooted in evidence-based policy formulation, grassroots engagement, and institutional strengthening, particularly in governance and justice delivery.
