In a strategic move to strengthen women’s participation in governance and grassroots development, the Wife of the Chairman, Ibadan North-East Local Government, Mrs. Khadijat Akintayo, hosted wives of Local Government Chairmen from across Ibadan in a high-level engagement focused on advancing women inclusion in leadership.

The meeting, held at the Multipurpose Hall of the Ibadan North-East Local Government Secretariat, Iwo-Road, brought together key women stakeholders in local governance for a session of impactful deliberations centered on national development at the grassroots level.

The delegation, led by Mrs. Monsurat Sanda of Egbeda Local Government, comprised her counterparts from Ibadan South-West, Ibadan South-East, Ona-Ara, Oluyole, Lagelu, Akinyele, Ibadan North, and Ibadan North-West Local Governments.

The gathering provided a platform to critically assess the current state of women’s inclusion in politics and leadership, while fostering collaboration and shared strategies to enhance their contributions alongside male counterparts.

In her address, the Chief Host, Mrs. Khadijat Akintayo, commended the dedication and commitment of wives of Chairmen, wives of Councillors and women leaders across various wards in Ibadan North-East Local Government.

The Chairman of Ibadan North-East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo popularly called (O MU YES) who made a brief appearance at the event, applauded the wives of Local Government Chairmen, wives of Councillors, women leaders, political stakeholders, members of the “O MU YES” Ladies group, and other well-wishers for their invaluable contributions to governance.
