Solutions FM Recognizes Exceptional Achievers, Honours Pst Ashimolowo, Sen Alli, Hon Fowokanmi, Bimbo Adekanbi, Dr. Akande Kazeem, Others

IBADAN – Solutions FM Ibadan recently honored some exceptional achievers in Nigeria, including Pastor Ashimolowo, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, Oyo Assembly Lawmaker representing Ibadan Southwest constituency 2, Hon Oluwafemi Fowokanmi, former Oyo State Commissioner for Finance and Chairman of the Ibadan Airport Upgrade Project, Honorable Abimbola Adekanbi among others at its maiden awards night ceremony.

The event, which took place on December 6 at the Aweni Arena, Oke Ado Ibadan, the Capital City of Oyo State aimed to recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of these individuals to society.

The awardees were chosen for their remarkable achievements in various fields, including politics, philanthropy, and career development.

The ceremony was attended by prominent figures in society, making it an exciting moment of joy, bonding, and reflection on the impact of these individuals’ work.

Addressing journalists at the event, the Chairman of Aweni Arena and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Solutions FM Ibadan, Chief Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke (FCA) noted that the award ceremony would be an annual event, stressing that the event showcased one of the uniqueness of the radio station in the media industry.

He also appealed to well meaning Nigerians to always give back to the society.

Adegoke said, “My philanthropic gesture was borne out of passion to assist the less privileged which was informed by my humble beginning.”

“Each time I look back, and I remember how I grow up, what I passed through, how I was my own mentor, each time I remember, right from primary to secondary to A level, to University, it was tough because I wasn’t born with a silver spoon, I’ll always like to give back to the society.” Adegoke said.

At the event, the distinguished Senator representing Oyo south, Barrister Sharafadeen Alli, was honoured with the Best Senator Of The Year Award; while Member, House Of Reps’ for Ido/Ibarapa constituency, Hon Aderemi Oseni, bagged Best Federal Honourable Of The Year Award, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo was recognized with the Philanthropist Of The Year Award.

Hon Abimbola Adekanbi, alongside Engineer Femi Alao bagged Man of Honour Awards, while Hon Oluwafemi Fowokanmi received Outstanding Member of the Oyo state House Of Assembly Award.

Other award recipients in the Philanthropist of The Year Award category included Dr. Akande Kazeem, Adedokun Adeolu Atanda (Triple A) while Otunba Olabamiji Temitope and Gbadamosi Rilwan Abiodun bagged Awards of Excellence.

Speaking with journalists shortly after receiving his award, Hon Abimbola Adekanbi said despite his style of making impact in the background, the radio station acknowledged his little efforts, pledging to do more for the society.

He said “I want to thank Solutions FM for this award, it’s a recognition that whatever you’re doing, someone is watching. Let’s do our things in our little corner, don’t wait for government, let’s try to do our bit”

Also speaking, Oyo state house of assembly member, Hon. Olufemi Oluwafowokanmi also emphasized the need for people to always give the best in whatever they do, noting that “you will wonder that people are really watching you, and this is a sign that if you’re doing well, people watch you, that’s why I look for avenue to be a blessing to our people which I’ve been doing and I’ll continue to do”

He said “in any position you find yourself, it’s a privilege to serve, do it wholeheartedly, and bear in mind that there is a record for every activity you’re doing and aspire to be a blessing, let men be lifted through you”
