Senator Yunus Akintunde, representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, has pledged five buses to support the activities of the City Boy Movement in Oyo State as the group intensifies grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The pledge was made when members of the Oyo State chapter of the movement paid the senator a courtesy visit in Ibadan.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Publicity Director of the City Boy Movement, Gbenga Oyetola, who said the visit was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with political stakeholders and expand youth participation across the state.

According to the statement, Senator Akintunde commended the movement for its role in grassroots engagement and youth mobilization, noting that its activities had helped bridge the gap between political leaders and young people.

He described the movement as a growing political structure capable of driving participation and awareness at the grassroots level.

Akintunde also expressed appreciation to members of the group for what he described as their commitment and consistency in mobilizing support across Oyo State.

In support of the movement’s operations, the senator pledged to provide five buses to ease transportation and coordination of activities across the state.

“Donating five buses is part of the needs of the movement, essential needs and I want to tell you that I’m convinced that whatever investment you put into this, it worth it.”

“It is importance to put it on notice that I’m also a member of the City Boy Movement (CBM) and my message has been that we need to follow whatever programme we have. Our mission is very clear, is to have a government that is reliable, responsible and that is responsive which we have been having since.

“Most of the promises been introduced by the current government is now the results are coming and we want to encourage our people to do more, so my message to City Boy Movement is to pursue our vision, we have to recognise obstacles on the road, we must face the challenges with strong determination and I’m optimistic that we will have the results.

Speaking during the visit, the Director of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Femi Onireti, said the group was already mobilizing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

According to him, the movement was targeting one million votes for

Tinubu in Oyo State.

“We are ready to go all out to ensure President Tinubu returns to office in 2027. We are mobilising seriously and targeting one million votes in Oyo State,” Onireti said.
