In every political generation, there are individuals whose emergence into leadership is not built on noise, propaganda, or political entitlement, but on consistent connection with the people, visible service, and unwavering dedication to grassroots development. One of such personalities steadily gaining the trust, admiration, and support of the people across Irepo/Olorunsogo State Constituency is Saliu Sarafadeen Ayinde, popularly known as Sasay.

At a time when many citizens are yearning for accessible, people-oriented, and development-driven representation, Sasay continues to distinguish himself through practical interventions, humility, and close relationships with the masses. His growing popularity among youths, elders, community stakeholders, and party loyalists is not accidental; it is a reflection of years of active participation in community affairs and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.
One of the strongest qualities that continue to endear Sasay to the people is his grassroots connection. Unlike many politicians who become distant after attaining positions of influence, Sasay has remained deeply rooted among the people. From community engagements to support for local initiatives, he has consistently demonstrated that leadership is about service and not superiority. His ability to listen, relate, and respond to the concerns of ordinary citizens has earned him widespread respect across various wards and communities within the constituency.

Education, which remains one of the strongest tools for societal transformation, has also received significant attention from Sasay over the years. Long before conversations about political ambition became widespread, he had already been investing in the future of young people through educational support schemes. Several students across higher institutions, including Colleges of Education, Polytechnics, and Universities, have benefited from his sponsorship programs to study courses of their choice. For many families struggling under economic hardship, such gestures have served as a lifeline and a source of renewed hope.

In addition to tertiary education sponsorship, Sasay has consistently supported secondary school leavers by paying examination fees for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB candidates. Many parents and guardians within the constituency have openly appreciated these interventions, describing them as timely support capable of preventing brilliant students from abandoning their academic pursuits due to financial challenges.

Beyond education, Sasay’s contributions to economic empowerment have equally become a recurring topic within grassroots discussions. Long before the current wave of empowerment politics, he had already been supporting individuals with brand new Bajaj motorcycles to improve their means of livelihood and economic survival. Beneficiaries of these gestures have often testified that the motorcycles helped them establish sustainable transportation businesses and support their families financially.

His interventions have also extended strongly into infrastructural and community development. Sasay has contributed to the construction and rehabilitation of damaged drainage and culverts in different areas where residents had long battled with accessibility challenges, especially during rainy seasons. These interventions have continued to improve mobility, ease transportation difficulties, and enhance daily living conditions for residents.
In another significant development, the Mapo community borehole has been upgraded and transformed into a modern solar-powered motorized water system under his facilitation. The project has brought a sustainable solution to long-standing water challenges in the area, ensuring constant water supply and reducing the burden on residents who previously depended on manual pumping and unreliable sources.
Similarly, in fulfilment of earlier commitments, the Ayekale village community has recently benefitted from the installation of solar-powered street lights. Residents described the intervention as timely and impactful, noting that it has improved nighttime visibility, enhanced security, and added a new sense of development to the community.
Beyond physical infrastructure and empowerment, Sasay has also made notable contributions to media development within the political space. From the inception of the Media Team, he has consistently supported its activities with financial assistance, ensuring smoother coordination and effective communication of party programmes. In a further demonstration of innovation and commitment, he also provided a drone to enhance coverage of political and community events, making it easier to capture activities professionally and project the work of the party to a wider audience.
Furthermore, many vulnerable individuals, petty traders, artisans, and small business owners have reportedly benefited from his financial assistance and business support initiatives. In many communities, stories abound of how he quietly provided support to struggling families, empowered youths with startup assistance, and extended help to people without seeking unnecessary publicity.
Recently, residents of Ajisaye village in Ward 10 also expressed heartfelt appreciation following the renovation of a long-abandoned borehole that had left the community struggling with severe water scarcity for years. Community stakeholders, including Alhaji Raheem, Baba Muji, Baba Ganiyat, and several others, described the intervention as timely and impactful.
Political observers within Irepo/Olorunsogo have repeatedly noted that the constituency requires a representative who understands the local realities and possesses the energy, exposure, and compassion needed to attract meaningful development. For many supporters, Sasay fits perfectly into that expectation.
As conversations surrounding the future of Irepo/Olorunsogo State Constituency continue to gather momentum ahead of 2027, many constituents believe the time has come for leadership that truly understands the heartbeat of the people.
Without doubt, the growing acceptance of Sasay among the people reflects a strong belief in his capacity to deliver purposeful representation, champion grassroots development, and uphold the aspirations of the constituency.

And in politics, when the people continue to speak positively about a leader’s impact long before campaigns fully begin, it often signals the rise of a movement built not merely on promises, but on trust, connection, visible service, and sustained investment in human development.
