Hon. Lanre Sarumi has felicitated with Nigerians on the nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary, characterizing the occasion as a pivotal moment to reflect on the country’s journey and recommit to unity.
In a statement released to the press, he honored the sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers, asserting that their legacy remains the bedrock of current freedom.
Sarumi further praised the resilience of the Nigerian people, emphasizing the nation’s diversity as its greatest asset.
However, he specifically commended Governor Seyi Makinde’s transformative leadership in Oyo State, citing it as a model of purposeful governance.


Addressing the upcoming 2027 general elections, Sarumi called for a peaceful and credible process. He urged all political stakeholders to prioritize national stability over ambition, advising citizens to view the elections as a democratic exercise rather than a cause for division. He concluded with prayers for lasting peace and prosperity across Oyo State and the Federal Republic.
