The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, has extended warm felicitations and commendation to teachers across Egbeda Local Government, Oyo State and Nigeria at large on the occasion of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day.
In a goodwill message marking the annual celebration, Sanda described teachers as indispensable builders of society whose dedication, patience and commitment continue to shape the lives of millions of young people.
He acknowledged the sacrifices made by teachers in the discharge of their responsibilities, noting that their contributions go beyond the classroom to encompass the moral, intellectual and social development of students.
According to him, virtually every successful professional, leader and responsible citizen has, at one point or another, benefited from the knowledge, guidance and discipline imparted by a teacher.
The Egbeda Local Government Chairman therefore commended teachers in the local government for their continued commitment to educating and nurturing the younger generation despite the various challenges confronting the profession.
He said World Teachers’ Day provides an opportunity for society to recognise and appreciate the important role teachers play in laying the foundation for a better and more prosperous future.
Sanda also called for continued support and encouragement for teachers, stressing the need for stakeholders at all levels to create an enabling environment that would allow educators to perform their duties effectively.
He further assured teachers in Egbeda Local Government of his administration’s continued commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at promoting quality education and improving the welfare and working conditions of educators within the local government.
The Chairman congratulated all teachers on the celebration and urged them to remain steadfast in their noble profession while continuing to inspire, educate and positively influence the next generation.
He said:
