Ibadan, Oyo State|

In a proactive effort to bolster community safety and deter criminal activities, a joint operation involving multiple security agencies has successfully conducted extensive bush combing and surveillance exercises across towns and villages in Lagelu Local Government Area (LGA). This initiative, spearheaded by the local government administration under the leadership of Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, underscores a commitment to upscaling security measures for the benefit of residents.

The operation brought together a formidable coalition of forces, including the Nigerian Police Force, the Directorate of State Services (DSS), Operation Burst, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the South West Security Network (Amotekun), Lagelu Security Network, the local hunters and vigilante groups. Teams meticulously patrolled rural and urban areas, focusing on potential hideouts in bushes and remote villages to prevent crimes such as banditry, kidnapping, and other threats that could disrupt community peace.

Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, Chairman of Lagelu LGA, has been praised for championing this security move, which aligns with his administration’s priority on fostering a secure environment for economic growth and community well-being. “Our administration is dedicated to ensuring that every resident in Lagelu feels safe and protected,” Hon. Kamorudeen stated. “By collaborating with these esteemed agencies, we’re not just reacting to threats but preventing them, allowing our people to thrive without fear.”

Local residents have welcomed the move, reporting increased confidence in daily activities. The operation is said to be part of a broader strategy by the Lagelu administration to integrate surveillance techniques with thorough community engagement, including plans for ongoing training and resource allocation to security personnel.
