Photos/Videos: Encomiums as Oyo Agency for Youth Bags Agency of the Year Award

The Oyo State Agency for Youth Development under the leadership of Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, has been named “Agency of the Year”, earning widespread praise and commendation from stakeholders across the state and beyond.

The prestigious recognition was conferred at the 2025 Every Youth Award, held in Ibadan over the weekend.

The award, which celebrates excellence in public sector performance and youth empowerment, was presented in acknowledgment of the agency’s exceptional strides in youth-focused initiatives, innovation, and policy implementation under the leadership of its Chairman, Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana.

Speaking of receiving the award, Hon. Adebowale expressed gratitude to the organizers and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to youth development in Oyo State.

He dedicated the Excellence Award to the sustainable development legacy of His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde for providing the enabling environment for Youth to thrive across all sectors, thereby promoting good governance in the State.

> “This award is not just a recognition of our efforts, but a call to do even more for the vibrant youth of our dear state by the father of the youth, Engr ‘Seyi Makinde. We are deeply honored and inspired to continue our mission with greater vigor,” he said.

Since I assumed office May 20th, 2024, the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development has rolled out a series of groundbreaking initiatives, including vocational training programmes, startup incubation for young entrepreneurs, mental health awareness campaigns, and digital skill acquisition drives, partnership with SMEDAN to enhance the operational capacity of the existing Micro, Small and Medium size enterprises (MSMEs) and encourage the growth of New Startup in Pacesetter state. These programmes have impacted thousands of youths, earning the agency accolades from development partners and civil society organizations.

This recognition reflects the hard work, innovation, and commitment of the entire team of the Agency.

Stakeholders, Spectators, and other awardees applauded the agency under the visionary leadership of Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, while extending encomiums, describing the agency’s work as a model for other states.
