In a historic display of leadership, philanthropy, and grassroots progress, the Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has officially flagged off the construction of a Mini Mapo Hall at the LG Secretariat in Idi-Ayunre.

Beyond the architectural significance of the project, what made the groundbreaking event unforgettable was the exceptional presence and supportive spirit of Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, FCA — the Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, Mogaji of Abosé Compound in Gege, Chairman of Aweni Communication and Holdings, renowned philanthropist, and 2027 governorship hopeful under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Known for extending his hands of love and empowerment wherever he goes, Adegoke’s involvement didn’t just uplift the project financially; it strengthened the unity, hope, and cultural pride of the people of Oluyole.

Addressing the gathering of traditional rulers, political stakeholders, and community members, Adegoke expressed deep satisfaction at being part of what he called “a defining chapter in Oluyole’s developmental history.”

“What we are doing here today is more than a project. It is a commitment to our roots, to our heritage, and to future generations,” Adegoke began.

“I believe that leadership is not about what we take, but about what we give back — in service, in love, and in the spirit of community renewal.

Wherever we see progress in motion, we must stand up not just as witnesses, but as strong supporters,” he added.

Adegoke emphasized the symbolic value of the Mini Mapo Hall and described it as a cultural and administrative beacon that will bridge generations, empower traditional leadership, and foster grassroots economic activity.

“This is our history being reborn. This is our culture taking form. And I am proud to be associated with every brick that will be laid here today.”

.“Oluyole is blessed. Ibadan is rising. And Oyo State will continue to lead with the power of unity and vision.”

He then went on to announce a series of donations that immediately ignited applause and admiration across the venue.

His contributions included:

* N10 million for the Foundation Launch
* N5 million for Wards 1 to 10 of Oluyole Local Government
* N2 million to the Iyalodes
* N2 million to the Baales
* N1 million to CAN, League of Imams, and Onisese
* N1 million to the National Council of Women Societies and Market Women

Adegoke’s boundless generosity not only affirmed his deep commitment to community development but also spotlighted him as a unifier — bridging the gap between tradition and modern governance, religion and royalty, politics and purpose.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo (Ijaya), commended both Olatunji’s visionary leadership and Adegoke’s unwavering support for grassroots development.

The flag-off was witnessed by key political figures, traditional rulers, and major stakeholders, including HRM Oba Hamidu Ajibade, the Asipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, who read a goodwill message from the Olubadan, applauding the Mini Mapo Hall project as a historic milestone.

Engr. Olatunji described the Hall as a transformational initiative inspired by the iconic Mapo Hall in Ibadan, destined to serve as a cultural and administrative headquarters for local governance and traditional authority.

With the groundbreaking now recorded in history — strengthened by the unity, resources, and inspiring contributions of figures like Oloye Adegoke — Oluyole has once again proven what is possible when leadership and love meet purpose.
