The leaders and stakeholders of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Ogbomoso South Local Government have voiced strong opposition to moves by some Ibadan politicians to impose the suspended Vice Chairman of the council, Hon. Mujidat Kareem, as Chairman of the local government.
In a communique issued on Friday and signed by stakeholders and leaders of the party and addressed to the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the party reaffirmed its full support for the suspension of both Hon. Oyeniyi Oyedokun Timothy as Chairman of the Council and Hon. Mujidat Kareem as Vice Chairman.
The leaders and stakeholders said the party in the local government needs healing after the exit of the erstwhile Chief of Staff, not another political crisis, as it approaches the general elections.
The party implored the leader of the party in the state, Governor Seyi Makinde, to kindly allow the wishes of the party in the local government to prevail, and not the wishes of some fifth columnists who have no idea of the political reality of the local government.

The party also alleged that the Vice Chairman, aside from the allegations levelled against her by the Ogbomoso South Local Government Legislative Arm, has not been involved in the affairs of the APM until she caught winds of her suspension.
The party wondered why someone who still defers to the authority of her political godfather, who is now a chieftain of the APC, wants to continue to reap from the APM when it is obvious that her mind is no longer with the party.
