The annual Ramadan lecture of Alhaji Ademola Wasiu Alli FCA was one in town yesterday as it featured notable Islamic clerics including community leaders, stakeholders and several Muslim groups who thronged his country home in Fiditi, Oyo state.
The event which was particularly significant, also marked the commissioning of a memorial Islamic center in honor of the late Partriach of Alli family ” Pa Yusuf Alli Memorial Mosque”.
Sen. Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Onifiditi of Fiditi land, Oba Shakirulah Adekola Oyelere Ajani Eedu II, Gbadewolu 1, Hon. Taofeeq Adegboyega Aare Egbe omo Balogun Olubadan of Ibadan Land, Alhaji Yakub Mainasara, Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial district, Sen. Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli, Mogaji Gbadeyanka, Hon. Taiwo and Kehinde Olukole, Mr. Nureni Adisa, Prince Akeem Durodola, Aare Musulumi of Afijio land Aare Ade Sanni Omiteru, former Executive Chairman of Atiba local government, Hon. (Mrs) Mojisola Kafilat Olakojo, Executive Chairman of Afijio Local government, Hon. Aikomo Femi Emmanuel, Chief Imam of Fiditi Alhaji AbdulAzeez Oyelere , Imam of Ilora Alhaji Mustapha Adelowo Olafenwa, Imam of Iware Alhaji Tunde Lawal were among stakeholders who graced the occasion.
In his welcome address, the Aare Musulumi of Fiditi and Afijio land The president Ansaru-deen Society Worldwide Aare Ade Sanni Omiteru, gave adoration to Allah while admonishing everyone to be closer to Allah in this month of Ramadan.
He observed that the lessons and teachings of Ramadan are multifaceted and far-reaching, extending beyond the month itself to shape the lives of believers throughout the year.
Aare Ade Sanni further reiterated that Ramadan is considered one of the most sacred times for Muslims, and its significance is deeply rooted in Islamic tradition.
In his sermon, Mufashir of Fiditi land, Sheikh Alhaji Ismail Sodiq Titilope, explained the exceptional supremacy of Allah and his book (Al-Qur’an).
While speaking extensively on the topic “the truth; Sheikh Ismail stressed that good deeds must be the priority that anyone should strive for, adding that the truth shall be the supreme ideal of individuals on earth.
While urging the guests at the gathering to remember the importance of honesty, transparency, and integrity, he noted that truth is closely tied to integrity and encouraged Muslims to uphold their values and principles, even in the face of adversity.
Sheikh Ismail however sensitized the guests on the importance of building a Mosque in memory of late Patriarch, Pa. Yusuff Alli and the rewards in thereafter.
While speaking from the throne, the Onifiditi of Fiditi land, Oba Shakirulah Adekola Oyelere Ajani Eedu II, Gbadewolu 1, acknowledged that Alhaji Wasiu Alli remains a respected figure in the community, emphasizing the importance of spiritual reflection and community service during Ramadan.
He applauded the Islamic cleric for doing justice to the topic, which according to him sensitized everyone on the spiritual benefits and supplication of Ramadan.
In his words: “The lecture and commissioning ceremony served as a testament to his commitment to promoting Islamic values and fostering community development.”
However, in his Keynote address, the former Governor of Oyo State, Oba Sen. Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, commended the Asiwaju Adinni of Afijio land, Alhaji Ademola Wasiu on his annual Ramadan lecture with special commissioning of Islamic Centre in memorial of his late Patriarch, named Pa. Yusuff Alli Memorial Mosque.
Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja commended the Alli’s family for their unity, and well as for the commissioning of the mosque with an e-library and other State-of-the-art facilities to meet modern standards.
In his remarks, Alhaji Ademola Alli lauded the presence of the guests and the traditional rulers. He reaffirmed that the Memorial Islamic Centre is expected to serve as a hub for community activities, educational programs, and spiritual growth.
The commissioning marked a significant milestone in the community’s efforts to promote Islamic values and foster a sense of unity among its members
Senator Ladoja and Onifiditi’s presence at the event underscored the significance of interfaith dialogue and cooperation. Their attendance demonstrated respect for the Islamic faith and appreciation for the community’s efforts in promoting peace and understanding.
