A Federal Lawmaker representing Ibarapa North/Central Federal Constituency of Oyo State, Hon. Dr. Adebayo Anthony Adepoju (Ibarapakan), has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde FNSE Dsc., for nominating him as Secretary of the Transportation Sub-Committee for the forthcoming 2025 Elective National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with Gov. Makinde serving as Chairman of the Convention Planning.

In his message of gratitude, Dr. Adepoju described the appointment as a rare privilege. He thanked Gov. Makinde, the National Executive Committee (NEC), the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC), and other stakeholders for finding him worthy of the national assignment. He pledged his full commitment to working with fellow committee members to deliver a smooth, historic, and well-organized convention in Ibadan.
“This assignment is not just a personal honor but a call to service to our great party. I am ready to justify the confidence reposed in me by my principal and leader, Engr. Seyi Makinde,” Adepoju affirmed.

The lawmaker further lauded Gov. Makinde for his visionary leadership, which has consistently placed Oyo State at the center of the PDP’s national affairs. He added: “Beyond rhetorics and beyond borders, I have no doubt that with Gov. Makinde steering this committee, victory abounds for our party. His leadership in the Transportation Sub-committee is real hope assured.”

The PDP National Convention, scheduled for Saturday 15th – Sunday 16th November 2025 in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, will elect new National Officers to pilot the affairs of the party.
Party faithful across Oyo State have already expressed enthusiasm ahead of this first-of-its-kind National Convention in Ibadan, which many believe will further strengthen the unity, structure, and prospects of the PDP as the 2027 General Elections approach.
