In a gathering that emphasized the spiritual essence of conscience, the Youth Forum of Asa Compound, Ibadan successfully hosted its 4th Annual Ramadan Public Lecture today.

The Ramadan Lecture was hosted by the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran at the Liberty stadium, Ibadan.

The event graced by religious scholars, prominent government officials, and community members, focused on the theme, “Conscience,” and served as a platform for reflection and spiritual enlightenment.

The lecture featured the distinguished presence of the Sheikh Abdulbasit Katibi, Aponle Anobi, who delivered a thought-provoking discourse on the significance of Conscience in Islam to every man.

He admonished those wielding power to exercise it with good conscience, encouraging victims of arbitrary use of power to trust in God for redress.

Katibi charged people holding power at every level to use it with the fear of God and as a means of advancing humanity.

Sheikh Abdulbasit Kitibi encouraged attendees to take a cue from Dr. Adeniran, whom he described as a mentor to many in and outside government.

Highlighting the spiritual significance of Ramadan, he described the holy month as a period of self-growth, charity, and community bonding.

“I admonish everyone present to follow the doctrine and principles of Allah to better our lives,” he urged.

The Cleric also took a moment to celebrate the award recipients, congratulating them for their contributions and urging them to consider the recognition as a call to greater service in the cause of Allah.

“Your award of honour should be seen as a clarion call to continue doing more for the community and for Allah’s cause,” he stated.

The lecture concluded on a reflective note, as attendees were reminded of the transient nature of life and the importance of aligning their lives with the principles of Islam.

In his welcome address, Dr. Adeniran expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for the blessing of witnessing another Ramadan and the opportunity to partake in the enlightening lecture.

“Alhamdulillah! We give adoration to Allah for His benediction and immeasurable blessings over us to witness this year’s Asa Youth Forum Ramadan Public Lecture, the 4th of its kind,” he said.

Adeniran extended his greetings to the noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and offered warm regards to both Muslims and non-Muslims present.

He acknowledged the presence of Special guests such as the President-general, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII, Barr. Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole; the Federal Representative, Ibadan South-East/North-East Constituency, Hon. Abass Adigun; Chairman, Solutions FM, Chief Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke.
