The Friday congregation at Felele Central Mosque, Ibadan, was filled with excitement today as the Oyo South Senatorial Candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) and member representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, popularly known as Odidiomo, worshipped alongside Muslim faithful and announced a ₦5 million donation towards the upkeep and development of the mosque.
The donation, announced shortly after the Jumat prayer, was warmly received by the mosque leadership and worshippers, who expressed appreciation to the federal lawmaker for identifying with the congregation and responding to the needs of the mosque.
Speaking to the congregation, Odidiomo said his support for religious and community institutions was driven by his belief in their importance in promoting unity, moral values, peaceful coexistence and community development.
He urged Muslims to continue praying for peace, security and economic prosperity in Oyo State and Nigeria, while calling on political leaders to remain conscious of the responsibilities that come with public office.

According to him, the challenges confronting the country require leaders who remain connected to the people and responsive to genuine community needs.
The lawmaker described places of worship as more than centres for religious observance, noting that they also serve as important platforms for transmitting values, strengthening community bonds and promoting peaceful coexistence.
Odidiomo said the ₦5 million intervention was intended to provide immediate support for the mosque’s needs, stressing that he remained committed to practical initiatives capable of making a meaningful impact on the lives of the people.
He maintained that effective public representation should go beyond political engagements to include meaningful participation in the social and developmental affairs of communities.
As he seeks to represent Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2027 general election, Odidiomo reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots engagement and urged the people of the district to remain united in the pursuit of development.
The leadership of Felele Central Mosque thanked the lawmaker for his generosity and continued relationship with the community, describing the donation as a timely intervention and a demonstration of his commitment to supporting communities beyond political considerations.
