Oyo PDP Describes Agboworin As Good Example Of What Party Represents*

The Acting Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Youth Leader in Oyo State, Mr Michael Ogunsina, on Monday, commended the lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), for his sterling performance as a federal lawmaker.

Ogunsina stated that the lawmaker has, ab initio, demonstrated unalloyed loyalty, unprecedented commitment, and contributed meaningfully to the progress of the party, saying his actions are impressive and worthy of emulation.

He gave the commendation while speaking during a leadership summit dubbed ‘Agboworin FLIP 1.0’, a programme targeting youths aspiring to become political leaders in the future, saying that Agboworin’s personality is a unique example of what the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) represents.

The event, which held at the International Conference Centre (ICC) of the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, hosted over 100 youths, who were schooled in the practical art of quality leadership for national development.

Ogunsina, who further encouraged the youths to take charge of their future, tasked them to be resilient and determined so as to attain greater height in life.

He urged them to always do their their best and strive hard to become resourseful and quality persons, and not be deterred by whatever challenges they are faced with.

Ogunsina further encouraged the lawmaker to continue to be focused and do his best for the people, saying he has become a role model youths are following his footsteps.

He said: “I am glad to be part of this gathering today, courtesy of our wonderful and resourceful Federal lawmaker, Rep. Abass Agboworin.

“In all honesty, Agboworin is a good example of what the PDP, as a party, represents. We appreciate his loyalty, humility, conduct and his love for the people. He really has the interest of the people at heart, no doubt.

“For everything he does, he carries the Secretariat of the party along. And when it comes to the aspect of support, He has been greatly supportive.

“There has never been a time he would want to organise any programme that he won’t call the Secretariat of the party along to do it together. He told us about this programme and sent us letter weeks ago. So, his actions are worthy of emulation.

“So, I want to encourage our youths to be resourceful and always do well. You see, politicians are just like us. Where you see a good person, there is a bad person too. That is the same way we have it in politics too. Some politicians are bad while some are very good, just like Rep. Agboworin.”

In the same vein, he commended the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, ‘Seyi Makinde, for being a worthy ambassador of the party upon which other political office holders draw their inspiration and motivation from.

The event had in attendance well meaning personalities and respected politicians including Engr. Dotun Sanusi, Chairman/CEO of Ilaji Resort and Hotels; Hon. Dare Adeleke, Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Federal Constituency Matters; Hon. Abiodun Babalola, Member of Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan North East Constituency 1; Miss Wasilat Adegoke, Commissioner for Youth and Sports; Hon. Abiodun Ekolo; Engr. Akin Akinleye; Hon. Kazeem Yinka (Bibire), and a host of others.
